Andrea Boggio
Professor Boggio is a native of Italy and came to the United States in 1999 for his graduate studies at Stanford. He practiced law for five years both in Italy and in the United States. Dr. Boggio practiced law in Washington D.C. with the law firm of Dickstein Shapiro where was assigned to the Complex Dispute Resolution practice group. Since joining Bryant, he has kept a small solo practitioner practice representing, among others, bondholders in litigation against Argentina. Before joining Bryant, Dr. Boggio completed his postdoctoral work in Geneva where he researched issues of governance of genomics research and then taught medical ethics and law in England at a Center for Professional Ethics at Keele University. He is also the coordinator of the Legal Studies Program.
Professor Boggio came to Bryant University in 2006. He is currently working on connecting human rights with science, in particular looking at how gene editing technology should be regulated to respect human rights. A co-edited book on the topic will be published soon by Cambridge University Press. Professor Boggio is on sabbatical during the academic year 2019-2020. |
