Elisabetta Misuraca
Being a first generation Italian-American, Professor Misuraca shares her time in both Italy and the United States. Professor Misuraca focuses on studying medieval renaissance literature, Italian regionalism and gender issues related to Italian in her research. She also examines Italian cinema, theater and organized crime. She recently began conducting independent research in Italy by interview young school children to determine their definition of gender.
Elisabetta Misuraca joined Bryant's faculty in 2007. She is a lecturer of Italian and teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. She assisted in establishing internship opportunities for students studying in Taormina, Italy. She is a co-instructor of the Sophomore International Experience trip to Italy, where students examine the culture and architecture of the country. Students have the opportunity to explore the country as a class and on their own, to emphasize independent learning. Prof. Misuraca is the co-adviser of the Italian American Association which promotes Italian language and culture on campus. The Association has many activities and events throughout the semester, including cannoli making, films and guest speakers. This club meets Wednesdays at 3 p.m. in Fisher 101.
