Master of Arts in Cultural Stability
Goucher College, Maryland
Goucher College's new Master of Arts in Cultural Sustainability program brings together tools from anthropology, history, communications, business and management, linguistics, and activism to teach students how to identify, protect, and enhance important cultural traditions in this era of increasing homogeneity and globalization. Cultural sustainability is a new discipline that combines activism, fieldwork, academic scholarship, and grassroots communications to help preserve cultural traditions and communities -- whether these are neighborhoods, villages, cities, ethnic groups, religious or spiritual groups, tribes, or any other populations with shared traditions and values.

Master of Science in Global Health
Duke University, North Carolina
The Master of Science in Global Health program defines a new way to approach training in global health research methodology and prepare future leaders to make an impact. A guiding principle is the recognition that a multidisciplinary and multi-sector approach to health is essential, as health is influenced by a multitude of factors. Through a tailored, flexible curriculum, students develop an understanding of the larger context of global health, while learning from faculty and other students approaching the topic of global health from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.

Master of Art in International Development
American University, Washington D.C.
The MAID is designed for students whose professional interests require a broad, multidisciplinary approach to international development theories, issues, and programs. It is particularly useful preparation for those involved in policy analysis, development and global education, and research. The program provides the opportunity for students to examine critically the most current international development theories and policies, and to gain an inside view on the Washington development community by serving as interns with development organizations. Students also have the opportunity to choose an area of concentration from a wide range of options, or to fashion an individually designed specialization relevant to their needs and interests. Offered by the School of International Service, for over 35 years, the International Development program has trained students to participate effectively in driving socio-economic, political, and environmental change throughout the world. The program's primary focus is the improvement of opportunities for the world's poor and disenfranchised. Students have the opportunity to custom-design a particular focus or concentration to fit their interests.

Master of Science in Arts Administration
Boston University, Boston
Boston University’s Master of Science (MS) in Arts Administration degree program is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in visual arts, performing arts, and arts service organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors both domestically and internationally. The Arts Administration program emphasizes excellence, creativity, economic problem solving, internationalism, and a commitment to the new technologies of our age. We are particularly concerned with helping arts organizations place the achievement of their missions ahead of any blind devotion to maximizing revenues. It is toward such an end that we sustain a deep conviction in the centrality of the role of the artist, and in the fundamental importance of artistic excellence, as issues central to the health of all arts organizations in the twenty-first century. In short, we are committed to making the world safe for art—not making art safe for the world.
