John Dietrich
Dr. John Dietrich has been at Bryant since 2001 and is a key member in the advancement of the Global Studies Program at Bryant University. When he started, Bryant was only a business school, without a College of Arts and Sciences. He worked diligently to form the College of Arts and Sciences and the Global Studies major as it is today. The faculty of the program has changed drastically, allowing students to become more globally aware as courses have more coverage. Now, the Global Studies faculty has a broader knowledge, with specialists of more regions around the world.
Before Bryant, Professor Dietrich completed his undergraduate at University of Pennsylvania and continued to graduate school at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Dietrich speaks French and has traveled to about 25 countries. He mainly focuses on the United States in his research, specifically human rights, ethics and how they relate to current issues. He is currently completing a case study on the United States use of drones and whether it violates international law. He has published multiple articles about the United States Human Rights Policy. |
