Note from the Director of Global Studies
Professor Alex Perullo, Director of Global Studies and Professor of Anthropology at Bryant University.
Welcome to the Global Studies program at Bryant University. Global Studies is an exciting and dynamic program on Bryant's campus. It is one of the few interdisciplinary programs where students can take classes from a variety of faculty in multiple areas from science to anthropology, history to economics, and law and political science. All students are encouraged to find ways to connect with global issues that benefits both their personal interests and their career ambitions.
We have a wonderful group of students in Global Studies. You can learn about some of them in the Student News section and the Students from Around the Globe series.
During the 2019-2020 academic year, we hosted a speaker series that detailed global issues and responses. The speakers included individuals from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Scholars at Risk, and well-known scholars who work on global issues.
Every year we also bring Bryant Global Studies students off campus for a series of events or conferences. This year we had planned to bring students to Washington, D.C. to attend the Scholars at Risk conference and to New York City for a United Nations conference. Unfortunately, both events were canceled due to COVID-19. Next year we plan to have both of these events, as well as policy competitions where students compete against other campuses on global issues.
