Why Study Global Studies? |
Students who major or minor in Global Studies attain knowledge and skills needed to comprehend the rapidly changing world in which we currently live.
Global Studies is an interdisciplinary program with faculty drawn from many departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. This means that students attain broad knowledge of the way the world works through courses in Anthropology, Communication, History, Language, Legal Studies, Politics, Science, Sociology, and many others. More importantly, students attain a variety of perspectives on important global themes, such as inequality, politics and governance, migration, peace and protest, the environment, health, and human rights. For those students who major in Global Studies, they are able to work in a variety of careers after completing a degree. Former Bryant students have worked in the United Nations, for non-profit organizations that address health and education concerns, public policy, education, the U.S. State Department, and numerous for profit institutions. Many students have also gone on to receive PhDs in fields related to Global Studies. |
